What is Drive Thru History®?

For more than 15 years, Dave Stotts and the Cold Water Media crew have been traveling around the world to bring us fun, fact-filled, culturally engaging, history on location. Are you frustrated that your children are learning history from a secular view? Switch now to Drive Thru History® “Acts to Revelation, The World of the First Christians” and learn history from a Christian perspective!

Along with their new “Acts to Revelation” DVD and curriculum, Cold Water Media has also brought us “The Gospels”, “America, Columbus to the Constitution”, “Ancient Christianity and the Birth of Western Civilization”, “Discovering America’s Founders”, and “Holy Land”. And don’t forget about the online resource: Drive Thru History Adventures.

Each episode in these Drive Thru History DVD and online videos gives kids a chance to learn Biblical History, Ancient History, and American History from a Christ-centered approach. The videos are a mix of humor and profound truths. These are amazing!

What is included in Drive Thru History® “Acts to Revelation”?

Can you imagine learning geography, archeology, and Christian worldview all in the same curriculum? This is exactly what “Acts To Revelation” does.

The 3 DVDs contain 18 episodes about 30 minutes long. Each episode is filled with on-location history, geography, and archeology lessons.

Most importantly, each episode teaches how the first Christians lived and followed Christ in a hostile world. You learn Biblical history while gaining a better understanding of Christian theology.

Who were the apostles and what did they do? Where did they travel? What did they write and to whom did they write it? What are the major themes the apostles passed on to us? What did other historians of the times write about Christianity? Answers to these questions and more are shared in a way that is both fun and life changing.

The DVDs are filled with maps, beautiful artistic masterpieces, and scripture all blended together to create a journey for the eyes and ears as well as the mind and heart.

A beautiful Study Guide accompanies the DVDs. It has some of the best photographs of Israel and other Biblical places that I have seen. There are discussion questions that lead to a deeper understanding of scripture and how the ancient world affected and was affected by Christians. Each chapter gives you scripture to read that is discussed on the DVDs. Side Roads provide additional information about archeology, history, and culture that show the Biblical stories are accurate and trustworthy.

How did our family use Drive Thru History® “Acts to Revelation”?

We were all thrilled to receive “Acts To Revelation”! We have learned so much from previous Drive Thru History productions that we couldn’t wait to begin this new series. And we were not disappointed. Each episode pulled us into the early Christian church, its founders, and its people. The more we learned, the more we wanted to know more!

All three of my sons, from age 7 to 15, and I were captured by the story and lessons in “Acts to Revelation.” We loved the questions in the Study Guide. The Side Roads connected history to the Bible in a tangible way. The DVD episodes just pulled us into the Bible. My boys were able to make historical connections they had never before realized. They became more excited about reading the Bible themselves. And we would all fly off to Israel tomorrow if we could! To see what the Bible is talking about, to learn history that supports the Bible, and to experience the Jewish culture like we never have before is life-changing!

I love seeing Israel on these DVDs. Beautiful vistas, monuments, and ruins all make the Bible so much more real. I can read in Acts about the early church, and then see how they might have lived. I love learning about history on location, and Drive Thru History makes me feel like I am in Israel or traveling with the apostles.

The lessons are so rich, we just keep wanting more!

Our thoughts on Drive Thru History®

As a homeschooling family and as a Christian, I strongly believe that the past is relevant in our present day. Historical and archeological discoveries continue to validate the Bible. And science just needs to catch up to what God has already told us.

So please, don’t underestimate the value of teaching your children Christian Worldview. Please prepare them for the lies and deception they will certainly encounter later in life. Don’t let your children be one of the many young Christians who leave Christ after high school. Now is the time to act; now is the time to teach Truth to our children!

Drive Thru History® is an excellent and reliable source that uses passages straight from the Bible to illustrate and discover our amazing God.

Drive Thru History® “The Gospels” is helping to engage and deepen my children’s relationship with Jesus through understanding the significance of the words Jesus said and the places He went and the miracles He preformed.

And now Drive Thru History® “Acts To Revelation” shows the profound impact that the followers of Christ have had on the world and its history.
