Day-Out-of-School Camps

When school is out but work isn't…send your kids to camp at the Children's Museum of Denver! Camps are packed with hands-on learning for kids ages 4-8. From theater and art, to science and history, each camp experience includes activities led by our experienced Museum educators and play in our exhibits.

 

Camp Themes:

Monday, February 17 – Animals in Art

Tuesday, February 18 – Messy Masterpieces

Monday, March 31 – A Camp about Camping

Wednesday, April 2 – You're a Star

Friday, April 4 – Olympic Adventure

Friday, May 9 – World Safari

 

TIME:    9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Aftercare available until 4 p.m. for $10.

AGES:    4- to 8-year-olds

COST:    Members: $45 per camper

                Non-Members: $50 per camper

Fee includes supplies and snacks. Campers should bring a sack lunch and come dressed for active play.

Explore the best of the west by taking a journey through our vibrant state! We're learning about Colorado's unique landscape and the native plants and animals that live in our backyard. Every day kids will embark on a spectacular adventure through our wild frontier!

 


Toddler Time – Fanciful Fawns

Mondays at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Celebrate our beautiful state by learning about one of its cutest critters – fawns!  Experience a day in the life of a fawn and then create your own fawn puppet to take home. This program promotes Social and Emotional Development, Language Development, and Science Knowledge and Skills.

 

Super Scientists – The Rare Black Bear

Tuesdays at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Join us as we learn all about one of Colorado's biggest animals… the black bear! We'll explore what makes this animal so unique and elusive. You'll even get to see a real black bear skull! This program supports 21st Century Skills, Science Knowledge and Skills, Social Studies Knowledge and Skills, and Literacy Knowledge and Skills.

 

Arts a la Carte – Let's Rock!

Wednesdays at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Colorado is full of shimmering stones and gleaming geodes. Discover a gold mine of fun as we dig into the world of gemology to learn all about our indigenous precious rocks and paint our very own crystallized creations. This program supports Creative Arts Expression, Science Knowledge and Skills, and Social Studies Knowledge and Skills.

 

Healthy Kids – Outdoor Play, the Colorado Way
Thursdays at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Colorado is a wonderful place to be a healthy kid! With so many beautiful outdoor spaces, our state makes caring for our growing minds and bodies fun and easy.  Join us to explore different ways to make the most of our mountain surroundings through (indoor) games and crafts! This program supports Social Studies Knowledge and Skills, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Health, and Creative Arts Expression.

Backyard Explorers – Centennial Symbols

Fridays at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
What do bighorn sheep, blue spruce and stegosaurus have in common? They're all symbols of our amazing Centennial State! Join us to learn all about Colorado's state symbols and plant your own Colorado state flower to take home. This program promotes Social Studies Knowledge and Skills, Science Knowledge and Skills, and Literacy Knowledge and Skills.

 

StoryTime
Daily at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Imaginations run wild hearing stories of far-off lands, wacky characters, friendships and fairytales. Each one has a theme with exciting stories and a fun activity, craft or song. Join us every Thursday for Delta Dental Healthy Smiles StoryTimes for fun dental health adventures and activities. This program promotes Literacy Knowledge and Skills and Creative Arts Expression.
