May Ingredient of the Month: Broccoli
This month is all about broccoli! All recipes, demos and tastings during May will include this amazing super food. Every day in The Teaching Kitchen is different - look online to see what's cooking for your visit! Please note, cooking class program space is limited, first-come, first-served. Sign up outside The Teaching Kitchen. Food for Thought is drop-in style, no sign up required. Programming subject to change.
Clay studio open hours: Monday – Friday 10 am – 3 pm, weekends 11 am – 4 pm
Glazing: Wednesdays 5 – 7 pm, Fridays 12 – 2 pm, weekends 1 – 3 pm
Demonstrations: Times vary, check website for details
Stop by to glaze bisqueware or your own unique piece, take in a wheel demonstration or participate in a hand-building class. For a small fee, you can even glaze and fire your piece in one of our kilns!
Mud Pies: Mondays at 3 pm and Sundays at 10 am
Stop in and run your hands through a fresh batch of clay mud for the ultimate sensory experience!
Clay Stories: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 pm
Use your imagination to tell the story of a small world made entirely of clay!
Clay 101: Fridays at 3 pm and Saturdays at 10 am
Learn the basic building blocks of clay sculpting and pottery with a clay specialist.
Daily, weekdays at 9:30 am and 11:30 am, weekends at 11:30 am
Imaginations run wild with stories of far-off lands, wacky characters, friendships and fairytales. Each one has a theme with exciting stories and a fun activity, craft or song. Join us every Thursday for Delta Dental Healthy Smiles StoryTimes for fun dental health adventures and activities.
"BAM! It's Summer!" Workshops
Kick off summer vacation with a bang! Challenge yourself with a cooking competition, enjoy a picnic in Joy Park while crafting flower crowns, learn how to throw on the pottery wheel and more! Tickets start at just $10/member, $20/non-member and include Museum admission unless otherwise noted. Sign up for our May/June workshops at mychildsmuseum.org. Hurry, workshops sell out fast!
