Joy Park Free Nights

Discover the joy of climbing, digging, zip-lining, splashing, messy, all-in play for free during our Joy Park Free Nights! We're keeping the exhibit open after hours from 4 - 8 pm (or dusk) on the third Friday of the month, May – September, thanks to a collaboration with Denver Parks and Recreation.


Please note: These free nights include access to Joy Park only and are weather-permitting. Except for the restrooms, the inside of the Museum will be closed. Additional 2017 dates include August 18 and September 15.


July Programming

Teaching Kitchen Cooking Classes, Demos & Tastings

Cooking Classes: Monday – Saturday, times vary

Food for Thought: Sundays, 10 am, 11 am and 12 pm
July Ingredient of the Month: Summer Squash

This month is all about seasonal summer squash! All recipes, demos and tastings during July will include this family-favorite gourd. Every day in The Teaching Kitchen is different - look online to see what's cooking for your visit! Please note, cooking class program space is limited, first-come, first-served. Sign up outside The Teaching Kitchen. Food for Thought is drop-in style, no sign up required. Programming subject to change.

Clay Studio

Stop by to glaze, take in a wheel demonstration or participate in a hand-building class. For a small fee, you can even glaze and fire your piece in one of our kilns! Check our website for open studio hours, glazing times and demonstrations.

 

Mud Pies: Mondays at 3 pm and Sundays at 10 am

Stop in and run your hands through a fresh batch of clay mud for the ultimate sensory experience.

 

Clay Stories: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 pm

Use your imagination to tell the story of a small world made entirely of clay.

 

Clay 101: Fridays at 3 pm and Saturdays at 10 am

Learn the basic building blocks of clay sculpting and pottery with a clay specialist.

 

StoryTime
Daily, weekdays at 9:30 am and 11:30 am, weekends at 11:30 am

Imaginations run wild with stories of far-off lands, wacky characters, friendships and fairytales. Each one has a theme with exciting stories and a fun activity, craft or song. Join us every Thursday for Delta Dental Healthy Smiles StoryTimes for fun dental health adventures and activities.

 

Early Learners' StoryTime

Daily at 10:30 am

Join us for an Early Learners' StoryTime filled with books, songs and finger rhymes. Early Learners' StoryTimes are designed specifically for children 3 and under.
