We now have more workshops than ever! Workshops offer an exclusive experience in favorite exhibits like The Art Studio, The Teaching Kitchen and Joy Park. In May and June sculpt and glaze clay dinosaurs, make fruit bouquets or explore the sudsy science of bubbles.

Teaching Kitchen Cooking Classes, Demos & Tastings

May Ingredient of the Month: Carrots

All recipes, demos and tastings in The Teaching Kitchen during May will include recipes to use carrots in delicious, new ways. Every day in The Teaching Kitchen is different, daily schedules at

Swedish Summer Fare in The Teaching Kitchen

Wednesday, May 9 at 11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm

Guest will learn to make a classic Swedish summertime recipe with IKEA Centennial.


French Chef Series in The Teaching Kitchen

Tuesday, May 29 at 2 and 3 pm

Guests can practice their culinary skills with Alliance Française de Denver, making French cuisine like crepes and pastries.


Joy Park Adventures

Daily, 11 am and 1:30 pm

Guests can craft with items found in nature, track bugs, make a sun catcher or a snowman in this year-round outdoor adventure. Programs vary.

Yoga in the Park

Monday, May 7, 11 am and 1:30 pm

Parachute Games

Wednesday, May 9, 11 am and 1:30 pm


Clay Studio

Clay and glazing studio: daily, 10 am – 4 pm

Guests can stop by The Art Studio to create with clay, glaze, take in a wheel demonstration or participate in a hand-building class. For a small fee, glaze and fire a piece in one of our kilns. Check our website for special programs.


Daily, weekdays at 9:30 am and 11:30 am, weekends at 11:30 am

Each StoryTime has a theme with exciting tales and a fun activity, craft or song. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 am are Healthy Smiles StoryTimes.


Early Learners' StoryTime

Daily at 10:30 am

Early Learners' StoryTimes are filled with books, songs and finger rhymes, designed specifically for children 3 and under.

Children and adults must stay together.

No adults are allowed in the Museum without a child, and no children without an adult.
