East Library

5550 N.Union Blvd.
Colorado Springs, CO 80918

Fri., October 19, 2018

Observe the sun safely with solar telescopes and a spectroscope. Browse the current information boards describing the sun and the electromagnetic spectrum. Take home a pair of solar glasses and a UV detecting bead bracelet (while supplies last). Learn how scientists use light to discover the chemical composition of stars, planets, and minerals.

This program is presented by the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society and Timmy the Telescope Solar Astronomy Outreach.

Please meet in the East Community Room but be prepared to go outdoors for solar observations. Designed for school-aged kids, our Homeschool Science @ East programs are scheduled on the third Friday of every month.

This is a family program so parents are expected to accompany their students. Contact Jfleishhacker@ppld.org for more information.
