Drama in the Forest – Summer Camp 2012

Join us for our third annual “Drama in the Forest” summer camp program!

Entering K – 2nd Grade – June 11 – 15

This weeklong camp is for children entering Kindergarten-2nd grade. We’ll be doing a play that is an adaptation of Beatrice Potter’s story, “Squirrel Nutkin”. The children help make many of the props and costumes and we make time for play and fun together along with rehearsing. The performance will be held outside in our beautiful Black Forest setting, and will take place late afternoon on the last day of camp, followed by a potluck. This is a wonderful opportunity for the families to get to know each other and enjoy the beautiful Black Forest environment.

Entering Grades 3 – 6 – June 25 – 29

This weeklong camp is for children entering Grades 3-6. The play this year is inspired by Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” and is about a friendship between a black and a gray squirrel in the Black Forest. A dramatic and fun story. We take plenty of time to “play” between rehearsals and swim in the above ground pool (the drama instructor is a trained life-guard and the pool is always supervised). We have the performance on the afternoon of the last day of camp, followed by a potluck with all the participating families.
