Educational Experience: I am a home school mom and love to use My Gym to fulfill our PE requirement. My 4 1/2 year old son takes part in a class where he is learning sports skills that will complement any future sport he choses to focus on. The teachers are experienced and kind. They help my son learn to play as part of a team and cheer for others. We love My Gym!

I have never met nicer librarians than in the children's department at the East Library. They are so willing to help and suggest reading materials.
The East Library's children's department is the largest I have ever experienced and filled with treasures. There are computers with kid-friendly software and lego type blocks for your children to enjoy while you browse.

We went for a Steam-Up and had a fun family day. Outside are train cars and locomotives that you can touch and some you can even climb into. Inside you can learn about the history of railroads and view model train sets.
We spoke to the train engineers after our train ride. They showed our son the engine and patiently answered his four-year-old questions. It was a great experience.

Educational Experience: Learn about the history of railroads. Notes
Notes to next visitors: Go on a good weather day so you can enjoy the outside attractions.Glad we had, wish we had...: Bring snacks and drinks because few refreshments are available onsite. Cameras are a must.

The zoo is one of our favorite places to visit. We love to feed the giraffes and visit the hippos. The preschool experience has given us up close views and experiences with many animals. Our 4 year old still talks about how he held the python, fed a hippo and raced a tortoise last summer.
Educational Value
Educational Experience: The preschool zoo experience program combines movement activities, crafts, books, rhymes, and great information to make it a fun and educational experience.Educational Enhancement Ideas: Follow up with more books about the featured animals. Notes
Glad we had, wish we had...: Hats, sunscreen, water, snack

The Briargate children's area is cozy with couches and stadium style seats. Puzzles are available to play with after a program. Sign ups are available for the children's computer stations.
Educational Value
Educational Experience: We have enjoyed the preschool reading programs so much this past year. With songs, rhymes, books, and stories it is great for preschoolers. The librarians travel from library to library, so the themes and presenters vary.
