School Crossing and Toy Station 

School Crossing has nearly 5000 square feet of retail space packed full of wonderful materials, games, and toys for teachers, parents, and grandparents. My mouth almost waters everytime I enter. The carefully selected resources are well organized by grade and subject. Most of the staff have been educators and are ready and willing to help you find just the right thing (or in my case, many things).

A membership is available that allows you to accumulate discounts. Children can sign up for the Kid's Club and receive discounts and a birthday card. School Crossing hosts frequent free special events that follow a theme and intruduce you to games and products that support that theme. Crafts and activities are free during these events.

A coffee shop, Pikes Perk, is housed next to the Toy Station. It offers a relaxed atmosphere to sip your beverage or grade your papers. Refreshments include child-friendly snacks such as milk and juice boxes.

This store has everything for teachers, parents, homeschoolers and kids. We went in last year looking for a specific product, and though they didn't have it, they went out of their way to find it and order it for us. Great customer rewards program that they actually track and use. The prices are a little higher, but I enjoy the service and atmosphere, as well as supporting a local business. They are great at communicating sales and specials (without filling your inbox), do free activities often for the kids, and are just wonderful overall! We (the kids too) LOVE going. The only downside - they're not open Sundays. Just keep it in mind for when you plan your trips.

There are so many fantastic toys to chose from that I have a difficult time making my selection every time I go in. The staff really helps with suggestions.
