Summer Camps Guide 2009

Want to experience the thrill of climbing indoors or outdoors with experienced instructors? Like climbing but want additional skills? Our indoor and outdoor climbing and adventure camps are tailored to a range of ability levels. These camps will provide an introduction to sports you can enjoy for the rest of your life

In addition to being a lot of fun, rock climbing increases strength, flexibility, balance, and range of motion.

Prices include all necessary equipment with the exception of the adventure camp/race training. Participants will need to provide their own bikes or we can arrange a rental for an additional fee. All camps require a minimum of 4 participants and have a 1:4 instructor:climber ratio.

Camp Details/Variations

CAMP 1: Adventure Camp/Race Training - May 25 - 29
Campers will learn and implement outdoor skills (map reading, bike maintenance, camping, climbing) that can be applied in adventure races or everyday adventures.

*This camp will be immediately followed by an adventure race on May 30.

Ages: Ages 11+

CAMP 2: Adventure Camp/Race Training - June 29 - July 3

CAMP 4: Indoor Climbing / Outdoor Option - June 1, 3, 5
For climbers of all levels. We will group according to ability. Learn knots, belay skills and teamwork.

*Outdoor option: Add a full day of outdoor climbing each Friday for $50 additional.

Ages: Ages 6 - 14

CAMP 5: Indoor Climbing / Outdoor Option - June 22, 24, 26
For climbers of all levels. We will group according to ability. Learn knots, belay skills and teamwork.

CAMP 6: Indoor Climbing / Outdoor Option - July 6, 8, 10
For climbers of all levels. We will group according to ability. Learn knots, belay skills and teamwork.

For climbers of all levels. We will group according to ability. Learn knots, belay skills and teamwork.

July 20, 22, 24 - 9 am - 12 pm

Cost: $135. *Outdoor option: Add a full day of outdoor climbing each Friday for $50 additional.

CAMP 8: Outdoor Rock Climbing - Beginner - June 8 - 12
Beginner classes cover the basics of belaying, top-roping, and bouldering outdoors. Intermediate/advanced is for campers with prior experience. Camps will be tailored to the levels of those attending.

June 8 - 12, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

CAMP 9: Outdoor Rock Climbing - Beginner - July 27 - 31
Beginner classes cover the basics of belaying, top-roping, and bouldering outdoors. Intermediate/advanced is for campers with prior experience. Camps will be tailored to the levels of those attending.

July 27 - 31, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

CAMP 10: Outdoor Rock Climbing - Intermediate/Advanced - August 3 - 7
Beginner classes cover the basics of belaying, top-roping, and bouldering outdoors. Intermediate/advanced is for campers with prior experience. Camps will be tailored to the levels of those attending.

CAMP 11: Competitive Climbers - Outside - June 15 - 19
These camps are designed for competitive climbers who want to stay in shape during the summer. Tips and tricks for climbing outdoors are taught, with competition as the goal.

Ages: Ages 11+

Dates/Times:
June 15 - 19, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

CAMP 12: Competitive Climbers - Outside - July 13 - 19
These camps are designed for competitive climbers who want to stay in shape during the summer. Tips and tricks for climbing outdoors are taught, with competition as the goal.
*The bouldering camp is followed by an outdoor competition on July 18 in Castlewood Canyon.
