A Bullfrog in the Castle
February 20th
11 a.m.
Come all ye young lads and ladies to join the fun and frenzy! Explore unique ideas to build a castle, make your own jumping bullfrog to take home and more. Dress as your favorite fairy tale character if you wish. Tickets to this Family Showcase are $1.

Arvada Center Dance
February 27th
 11 a.m.
Bring your little ones who love to boogie and introduce them to all kinds of dancing, from jazz to ballet, with performers of all ages. Tickets to this Family Showcase are $1.

Golden voices will fill the theater for a performance of “Coo Coo Cachoo!”

Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory

Learn about the many birds of Colorado and make your own bird feeders to take home.

Museum Sleepover*
If you love playing in the Museum during the day, you’re going to love spending the night! We invite you and your family to spend the night on our fire truck, inside the anthill, or even on a lily pad. Enjoy a private playtime, take a behind-the-scenes tour and watch a movie as we all settle in for the night. Dinner and breakfast will be provided.
When:    Saturday, February 20th – Sunday, February 21
                  6:30 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
 Tickets:  $50 per person**
                RSVP by Friday, February 12th
*Children must be accompanied by an adult. We ask that each adult be responsible for no more than two children. The Museum assumes no responsibility for caretaking or babysitting.

Everyone is invited to celebrate our new partnership with Whole Foods Market! Join us at 11:00 a.m. in the favorite exhibit, My Market, for a bread-breaking ceremony with a 7 ft. challah! Stick around afterwards to play, taste some yummy Whole Foods snacks* and visit the face painter to get a dazzling new look!
*The first 150 people will receive a reusable Whole Foods bag full of treats to take home!

Hop on in for the Best Eggventure in Town
Saturday, April 3rd
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
 
Wiggle your nose and bop around from one “eggsploration station” to the next at the best spring festival around! Enjoy floppy-eared StoryTimes with the Big Bunny, bounce the bunny hop, try your hand at egg-dying, meet animal friends and so much more! Our annual Bunny Trail Eggventure is a hippidy hoppidy way to celebrate the season!

Anytime Activity Ideas: National Bubble Week*

Bubbles are so AMAZING, the entire nation is celebrating them! In honor of Bubbles, our new exhibit opening May 15th, we are replacing all of our daily programming with enchanting, marvelous bubbles activities.

11:00 a.m. ~ Bubble Home Inventions
Find out easy, fun ideas to have a bubble blast at home! This activity promotes science, language and large motor skills.
3:00 p.m. ~ BIG bubbles!
Enormous bubbles are in your future as we head outside to put the world record setting bubble solution to the test and see just how GIANT bubbles can get! This activity promotes science and large motor skills.

11:00 a.m. ~ Bubble Lava
Get a little groovy with us! We are making homemade lava lamps with bubbles of water in oil. This program promotes science, logic and math skills.
3:00 p.m. ~ Bubble Bursts
Come and learn what makes a bubble pop with a neat experience involving gases and pressure. This activity promotes science and logic.
Monday, March 22nd
10:00 a.m. ~ Bubble Bubble
 We’ll read the Mercer Mayer book “Bubble Bubble,” make our very own bubble wands, and of course play with bubbles! This activity promotes fine motor skills and early literacy.
2:30 p.m. ~ Bubble Gum
What’s the only thing cooler than bubbles? Bubble GUM! And we’re making our very own! This activity promotes science.

Programs Offered: Junior Jobsite
Junior Jobsite will be making a few cameo appearances in the upcoming months so don’t miss your chance to explore the nuts and bolts of construction! Grab your hard hats, blueprints and safety vests to “paint” walls, discover the pathways of plumbing with airplay, and explore the basics of electricity.

Superhero Wednesday Nights!
Wednesday Nights, 4 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Transcend the daylight, brave the night, and come celebrate the evening hours at the Children’s Museum of Denver! Superheroes and heroines alike are all invited to conquer the crowds of a regular ol’ day and join forces to play and learn at night! Craft a cape for your distinctive identity, hear legendary tales of the champions of the universe and tone your prowess in the Power Pumping Training Center! 
Wednesday evenings from 4-7:30p.m., everyone wearing superhero gear gets $2 off admission!

Build-a-Gnome
Gnomes, elves, fairies, trolls…call them what you will, but these little guys are taking over arts this month and there’s no stopping ‘em! These friendly creatures come in many shapes and sizes and are waiting for you to complete their looks, so come decide which gnome is right for you! This activity promotes creativity and fine motor skills.

Cauldron Collages
Eye of newt and toe of frog, wool of bat and tail of dog… for this spell we’ve got a good start…who says witch’s brew can’t be art? Jack and the Beanstalk
Fee Fi Fo Fum! This month in Toddler Time we’re exploring the tale of “Jack and the Beanstalk,” choosing our favorite character, and planting magic beans for our very own beanstalk. This program promotes science, literacy, speech, fine motor skills and math.

Birds of a Feather
Penguins, peacocks and pelicans galore. Some birds swim and some birds soar. Join the gaggles of geese and pairs of parrots as they team up with many other feathered friends. We’ll combine beaks, talons, wings, and more to ensure each new bird is wackier than the next! This program promotes fine motor skills, arts, science and literacy.

Jungle Safari
It's a jungle out there! Join us on a special safari where we'll make binoculars, explore the jungle and identify exotic animals. This program promotes large and fine motor skills, speech, arts, math and literacy.

Kooky Creatures
Calling all creatures great and small… and weird! Join us as we learn about some wonderfully wild and kooky creatures! This program promote science, imagination and arts.

We are turning the theater into a giant shadow screen so we can practice the ancient art of shadow puppetry. Come make your very own shadow animal puppet to roam the silver screen. This program promotes gross and fine motor skills, and arts.

Worm World
This month we're digging in the dirt to meet some wiggly and wonderful worms! The worm is one of nature's top soil scientists, helping to increase the amount of air and water that gets into the soil. Join us to learn all about these composting creatures!  This program promotes fine motor skills, scientific thinking and environmental awareness. 
 
Backyard Explorers
Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 3:00 p.m.
The Painted Pond
Join us as we take a closer look at the official reptile of Colorado--the Western Painted Turtle. Get the facts and hear some of the folklore about these easygoing swimmers. This program promotes science, arts and cultural awareness.

Project Pets
Having a pet is a lot of fun, but it can also be a BIG responsibility. Come share your favorite pet stories while we learn all about different pets and how to care for them. There might even be a special animal guest to play with. This program promotes literacy, life skills and compassion.
